The view of accounting is cold, boring, monotonous, and lonely-to most business owners. Camp Accounting, a four-hour training program, is going to change that view using the familiar theme of camping and guiding fellow "campers" through a new accounting model called Diamond Tree.
For hundreds of years accounting has been the means to tell a company's story: how it started, how it is sustaining, and its potential to grow in the future. Accounting has also been taught the same way for hundreds of years using the sterile formula: Assets = Liabilities + Equity, part of Generally Accepting Accounting Principles.
Camp Accounting has created a new training process, in a camp site-like theme, to demystify the learning experience and break down the basic principles of accounting using unique model called Accounting Trail Map (AT Map). The Map teaches accounting from the ground up, using basic concepts, examples, and activities to help absorb the information. The campers will be engaged from the moment they enter the room until the final interaction with the rest of the campers and training guide.
Students will walk away with the basic understand of accounting principles, how each transaction in a business is like a tree, and how all those trees create a forest of transactions that tell the story in the form of two reports: a Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Statement.
The extraordinary result of Camp Accounting is that Campers acquired knowledge they can share with others, making it a skill that is easily transferable to their business and their circle of influence.
